Alternates are entities that mimic the behavior and appearance of humans. While most Alternates are flawless recreations, some have defining features that make them stick out compared to other humanoids (See: Uncanny Valley). Reports first started in the small county of Mandela, located in Wisconsin, but only more reports have shown up throughout the United States. Reports suggest they mimic loved ones or trusted figures to gain psychological control over their targets, and are reported to use that psychology to attack their victims, both mentally and physically. Families victims of Alternate Attacks often report feelings of confusion, fearfulness, or paranoia before disappearing or, in worse cases, dead on arrival at the scene of the attack. Though there has been a growth of Alternate attacks, it appears as if there are different sections and groups of Alternates and Mimics. Mandela County have documented imagery of religious figures (usually those seen in Catholicism) used to trick victims, along with reports of loved ones, family, and friends. However in other states, it's been documented that some of these mimics have been using the appearance of dream entities to trick their victims. The most infamous case was a young girl who believed her imaginary friend had come to life. The crime scene was... Brutal. Further research is required to determine their origin and whether they operate independently, though, most signs show communities of different branches, all with their own personalities. They are very dangerous, as it appears that some entities within this category are stronger than others.
